  1. Share a time when something happened that you did not expect. How did it affect you and those near you?
  2. What is the relationship between doubt, faith and unbelief?
  3. In what way had the people of Jesus’ time misunderstood what he was supposed to do? How do we still “misunderstand” him?
  4. Explore the time when you have been disappointed by Jesus. What happened? How did you respond?
  5. What is the difference between “evidence” and “proof”? Which would you rather have?
  6. How have you experienced Jesus as a “stumbling block”?
  7. What is the difference between believing and following? How do the two complement each other?
  8. What doubt do you need to give voice to?
