  1. How do you tend to react when you hear of someone else’s sin? What is your response?
  2. In what ways and situations are you tempted to “play God”? How does that usually turn out?
  3. Why is it hard for us to let God be God?
  4. At which point of the “slide” do you find yourself today?
  5. Have you ever thought of “sin” as being “happy”? In what way(s) does that go against your usual understanding of how things work?
  6. In what way(s) does our sin help us realize our need for a redeemer?
  7. What does it mean to “recognize” sin in our lives?
  8. What would it look like for you to have joy restored in your life? What is joy?
  9. How do you imagine the woman caught in adultery responded to Jesus’ words? How does that compare with your experience of and response to forgiveness?
