Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. Which of the servants in the story would you be most like? Why do you say that?
  2. When you consider what you have, how hard is it to see yourself as a “steward” rather than an “owner”?
  3. How does it affect you to see God as the master of your life? In what practical ways do you live that out?
  4. What reminds you that your “stuff” doesn’t belong to you?
  5. How well does your income and spending balance? What are the contributing factors to your current financial situation?
  6. What do you think of John Wesley’s financial directions? Are they still practical today? Why or why not?
  7. Am I spending my money on the things that are most valuable to me…really?

Four whole days of basking in the unity and the camaraderie that the Olympics are known for. The world comes together for these games to compete in a wide variety of sports and demonstrate that we can get along, at least for a couple of weeks. World leaders usually attend, too, and one of the prominent attendees in Beijing was Russian president Vladimir Putin. All eyes were on Putin because his army had been establishing itself along the border with Ukraine. And four days after the Olympics were over, that army moved.
