  1. What makes forgiveness so hard? Where do you find examples of forgiveness in our world today?
  2. How does the prayer sound different if you ask for debts to be forgiven? trespasses?
  3. What was the purpose of the Old Testament sacrificial system? How did it fail to accomplish that purpose?
  4. In what way can sin be described as a broken relationship? How have you experienced that?
  5. What is the connection between our forgiving and experiencing forgiveness?
  6. Why is the temptation to “take Jesus’ place” in the process of forgiveness so strong?
  7. What place in your life needs the healing power of forgiveness? What are you going to do about it?

Revelation 22:1-5 May 5, 2024 • Mount Pleasant UMC It had only been four days since the Winter Olympics in Beijing had ended. Four whole days of basking in the unity and the camaraderie that the Olympics are known for. The world comes together for these games to compete in a wide variety of sports and demonstrate that we can get along, at least for a couple of weeks. World leaders usually attend, too, and one of the prominent attendees in Beijing was Russian president Vladimir Putin. All eyes were on Putin because his army had been establishing itself along the border with Ukraine. And four days after the Olympics were over, that army moved.
