Questions to Discuss or Ponder:
- What kinds of questions are you asked most often? What kinds of questions do you dread having to answer?
- Why do you think Jesus answered so few questions during his lifetime? What does that tell us about his nature and character?
- Why do the Jewish leaders charge Jesus with claiming to be a king? What problems does that cause for both Jesus and Pilate?
- What does it mean that Jesus’ kingdom is not from this world?
- What is the difference between Jesus’ idea of a king and Pilate’s? How does Pilate’s idea continue to persist in our world?
- When Pilate decides what to do with Jesus, how does he mistakenly proclaim the truth of the kingdom?
- How will you pursue Jesus’ kingdom this week?
