Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. What kinds of questions are you asked most often? What kinds of questions do you dread having to answer?
  2. Why do you think Jesus answered so few questions during his lifetime? What does that tell us about his nature and character?
  3. Why do the Jewish leaders charge Jesus with claiming to be a king? What problems does that cause for both Jesus and Pilate?
  4. What does it mean that Jesus’ kingdom is not from this world?
  5. What is the difference between Jesus’ idea of a king and Pilate’s? How does Pilate’s idea continue to persist in our world?
  6. When Pilate decides what to do with Jesus, how does he mistakenly proclaim the truth of the kingdom?
  7. How will you pursue Jesus’ kingdom this week?
