Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. When was a time you felt powerless? Describe that feeling and how you reacted.
  2. When you think of someone or something that is ungodly, what comes to mind? What is it about that which pushes God to the margins?
  3. What is the difference between a “righteous” person and a “good” person? Why, according to Paul, is someone more likely to die for a “good” person?
  4. What does it mean to have an enemy? What does it mean to be enemies with God?
  5. Share examples of Jesus’ teaching that you believe are the most important. How are those teachings summed up in the cross?
  6. Why is Jesus focused on loving each other on the night before the cross? In what way should that command shape our lives every day?
