  1. What sorts of emotions and thoughts does Mother’s Day stir up for you?
  2. From whom did you learn your faith?
  3. What does “faith” mean to you? What does it mean to “have faith”? When do you think someone has gone “too far” with their faith?
  4. What does it mean that the law was our “guardian”? How did Christ’s arrival change that?
  5. What is the difference between obeying “Torah” and following Jesus?
  6. How does faith upend ethnicity? status? gender? In what way(s) have you experienced a change in such things because of your faith?
  7. What way(s) do we still find to divide ourselves?

Job 2:11-13 May 18, 2025 • Mount Pleasant UMC Well, it’s been an interesting year so far, but I am glad to be back in the pulpit today. I appreciate Pastor Rick jumping in to help with an extra week of preaching and all the other things, and I have appreciated all the calls and texts and messages and “Facebook likes” and chai tea lattes that have come my way. It has been quite a journey, one that is not over yet as there is yet another surgery in my near future, but I have appreciated the care that has come my way.
