- What do you remember learning about death and dying when you were a child? How does that affect your attitude toward it now?
- Of the three “witnesses,” which have you seen played out in your own family’s experience or in the experience of others?
- When have you been most like Abishag? In what way(s) have you been able to minister to those who are walking through the valley of the shadow of death?
- What enables us to provide such ministry with joy?
- What does it mean to grieve as those who have hope? How have you seen that lived out?
- What difference does God’s presence make in such times? Describe someone for whom you know it made a difference.
- How have you experienced the truth of Wesley’s last words: “The best of all is, God is with us”?
