Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. How do you picture/imagine the mood in the room during the days between Good Friday and Easter? How would you have reacted during those days?
  2. Take a moment to read through John’s account of the crucifixion (and, if you have time, the entire passion narrative) in John 19:17-42. Picture yourself in the story. What is your response? How do you react?
  3. Reflect on this statement: “Nearly all of us carry some level of pain, fear or shame deep in our bodies and minds.” Can you relate? Share as you feel comfortable.
  4. Why do you think Jesus kept his wounds?
  5. Which of the three “c’s” is the most difficult for you to live into? Why?
  6. What will you do this week to allow God to make you into a wounded healer? How will you start?

Scripture for the Week:

Monday - Isaiah 53:1-12

Tuesday - Proverbs 3:1-6

Wednesday - Hebrews 12:4-13

Thursday - 1 Corinthians 6:12-20

Friday - Psalm 130

Saturday - Colossians 3:1-4

In response to this Scripture, how will you live?

Prayer Prompt: God, use my wounds for your glory.
