Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. Recall something you had to wait a long time for, something that would impact your future. What was your attitude? What do you remember from that time?
  2. How well do you multitask? What happens when you have many demands on you at once?
  3. What was the psalmist’s “one thing”? What is your “one thing”?
  4. Had you been Solomon or Bartimaeus, how would you have responded to the question asked of them?
  5. Why is it important that “wait” is a command in this psalm? What does that say to you?
  6. Where in your life do you currently need courage?
  7. Who has God placed in your life that can “loan” you faith and courage during your current waiting period?

Job 2:11-13 May 18, 2025 • Mount Pleasant UMC Well, it’s been an interesting year so far, but I am glad to be back in the pulpit today. I appreciate Pastor Rick jumping in to help with an extra week of preaching and all the other things, and I have appreciated all the calls and texts and messages and “Facebook likes” and chai tea lattes that have come my way. It has been quite a journey, one that is not over yet as there is yet another surgery in my near future, but I have appreciated the care that has come my way. Many of you know our sermon schedule is prayerfully planned out months in advance.
