Questions to Discuss or Ponder:
  1. What does bread represent to you?
  2. Recall a time when you had hoped for one thing but something else happened. How did that feel? How do you think Cleopas is feeling at the beginning of this story?
  3. Why is the bread so central to Jesus’ identity in this account?
  4. When have you experienced Jesus in the midst of the ordinary?
  5. Which of the “one anothers” is most difficult for you? How do these commands define and give shape to your faith in Christ?
  6. In what way(s) do you experience Jesus in communion?
