  1. When have you experienced “lostness”?
  2. Who, in your view, is the main character in this story? Why do you say that?
  3. Why is the younger brother’s request so offensive?
  4. In what way(s) does the father take unexpected actions?
  5. Where do you find yourself in this parable?
  6. Respond to the statement: “Not all who are lost wander.”
  7. Recall a time when you forgot your purpose. What happened? What happens when we forget our purpose as Christians?
  8. What one thing will you do this week to refocus on your purpose as a follower of Jesus?
