  1. What are some of your biggest faith questions? How do deal with those?
  2. Respond to Buechner’s assertion that “If you don’t have any doubts, you are either kidding yourself or asleep.”
  3. Recall a time when you prayed for something and nothing happened. What was your response? How did that affect your faith?
  4. What does it mean for a believer to have “eternal life” now?
  5. What is wrong with the statement, “Prayer works!”?
  6. What is the primary purpose of prayer?
  7. Which of the “obstacles” do you believe gets in your way most often? Why?
  8. Have you struggled with a “thorn in the flesh”? What happened? How did/do you deal with it?
  9. What had to happen for the disciples to see the cross as a “better way”?
