Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. What “idols” do people put their faith in today? What “idols” are most tempting for you to have faith in?
  2. Why are idols more comfortable to worship?
  3. Which of the god-like alternatives are still alive and well today? Which one(s) have you worshipped from time to time?
  4. How do you conceive of an “everlasting” God? What questions do you have about God being “eternal”?
  5. What about creation inspires you to worship? What does it mean to you that God is a creator?
  6. When have you experienced God giving your strength, sharing his own strength with you?
  7. Share about a time when you found yourself “waiting” on the Lord. What happened? How did you find yourself reacting during a time of waiting?
  8. What will you do this week to develop small faith?

Four whole days of basking in the unity and the camaraderie that the Olympics are known for. The world comes together for these games to compete in a wide variety of sports and demonstrate that we can get along, at least for a couple of weeks.
