Questions to Discuss or Ponder:

  1. What made the ground holy in the story of the burning bush (Exodus 3)? Why do we often refer to places as “holy”? What makes them “holy”?
  2. How does the phrase “set apart” begin to convey the idea of holiness? What does it mean that holiness is wherever God is?
  3. If being chosen is a privilege, what does that mean for the way we live our life? Why are we tempted to presume upon privilege rather than serving others?
  4. What difference does it make in your life if you think of yourself as a priest?
  5. Why can’t a country be holy? Why does Peter call us a “holy nation”?
  6. In what sense are Christians “peculiar”?
  7. Which element of “light living” are you most experiencing right now in your life? How are you able to rely on God’s presence within you?
